Tetratheca procumbens

Tetratheca procumbems

Spreading pinkbells

Eleocarpaceae

Flowering: September through to February

Usual habitat/distribution: Commonish, but scattered around in sub alpine heathlands, grasslands from sea level up to mountains.

Status: Not sure

Description: Small little shrub branching mostly from the base, with slender stems and little singular flowers forming in the leaf axils. Wiry with mostly  ‘procumbent’ stems, which basically means growing along the ground as opposed to growing up into the air. Although they do grow up in the air too, like this one I photographed. It was growing in amongst some rocks so it had a bit of protection. Leaves are generally in whorls of three, about a centimetre long and linear.
